Not Again??? | thornyasarose's Blog

It has happened to me again. I sat here and spent over THREE HOURS pecking out a story, inside a little one inch square view box, on this phone,. Trying to share with my new friends, and others, the last 36 hours of my life, BEFORE collapsing in utter exhaustion, with hopes of several hours of sheer oblivion. And peck I did. And scroll up and down to proofread, and manipulate a cursor, that has a mind of its own, within the square box, until all the "I"s were doted and the "T"s were crossed. "Click here to Subnit" (so says the rectangular box that just so happens to be LARGER than the square box). Hah!!!! Submit, My Grits!!! Another Story of My Life in My Little Corner of The World is now ping-ponging about the atmosphere, no where to be seen for any reading enjoyment to any living breathing human in the here and now. Alas, I shall let go of it and trust God to make use of it as He chooses.

Yea, i need a big box. I AM a woman of many words. So many that, in order to be kind to my attorney, rather than making him listen to me say all I have to say, I drop of little letters so he can read them at his convenience. I tend to ramble, often. You know how one thought can lead to another one that leads to....and then you are left wondering, "what was I talking about?" I could tell many numerous stories about THAT mind game (I play it with myself everyday since no one else wants to play it with me, I have the highest score, you know). The funny thing,Nora, is my brother makes a living (a fine living) programming, restoring, servicing...computers! But, remember I live on the Western Banks of the Mighty Mississippi. He lives about 2 hours southeast of here. Travel is hard for me since I never know from one day to the next if I will have the muscle strength to function. And, a two hour drive (one way) is quite a distance. We only have one place local that works on computers, refills ink cartridges, etc.. And the wait period is unreal (of course). And no swaps . It is a VERY poor area, Nora. I mean VERY poor. We were doing well until I became unable to work, but even with living off disability and so-called-dad not paying support, we are still living better than most. The area is so poor that the school system does not OFFER free or reduced lunches-everybody just gets a free lunch (AND breakfast), no money ever exchanges hands. But, I AM going to get a small lap top. Probably similar to yours (plz send more info). And it probably will be worth the little extra, for the comfort, to have a warranty. Too many variables in my life right now as it is. In the meantime, I guess i could take pen in hand, at least make short notes to myself. I am just having a hard time with pages loading (slow as molasses in January), not seeing the whole page, different servers give different views, it's just not ideal, but sure beats where I was 2 months ago. And maybe that is best-slow rediscovering of one's self. Gives me more reflection time... Who am I trying to kid here, Nora??? I WANT MY LAPTOP and I DARE one of those teenagers of mine to say a word about it. It will be a long time before they will see the light of day if they do. (Once again, who am I trying to kid here? I'm a cream puff and they know it). Thanks for sharing my dream with me. It will be mine.
